Harrow Appi follows the British curriculum, centered on the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and A-Level (Advanced Level) qualifications. Students in Years 7–9 follow a customized Harrow curriculum, while Years 10–11 focus on IGCSE preparation. Upon completion of the IGCSE, Years 12–13 engage in A-Level studies. The school is structured into three academic stages:


Prep School (Years 7–8: Ages 11–13, Equivalent to Japanese Elementary Grade 6 – Junior High Grade 1)

Admissions Process

Eligibility & Year Groups

The academic year at Harrow Appi starts in late August and ends in late June. Students are placed in the following categories:

  • Prep School (Years 7–8): Ages 11–13

  • Senior School (Years 9–11): Ages 13–16

  • Sixth Form (Years 12–13): Ages 16–18

Admission to Year 10 and above requires GCSE academic records and additional documentation.


English Language Requirements

All classes (except foreign language courses) are conducted in English. Students are assessed based on CEFR or GSE standards, and EAL (English as an Additional Language) support is available if needed.
