01

ENGLISH

At EGCIS, we provide a wide range of fields for 1st- to 5th-grade students. Our lessons are centered around spelling, grammar, sentence structure, reading comprehension, and essay writing. We find the students' weak points and work through them. With us, students will build a solid base in English by the time they start junior high school.

02

SCIENCE

In elementary school science, it is important to develop observational skills. We will foster interest in experiments, research, and scientific inquiry in our students. Apart from the formal assignments, we will encourage students to conduct their own research, come up with hypotheses, and make observations and conclusions.

03

SOCIAL STUDIES

Sociology, which students learn at international elementary schools, begins with topics related to daily life and familiar things, but also includes larger perspectives such as environmental issues.
In order to get students interested in world events from an early age, we use newspaper articles and documentaries in our lessons. Many students struggle with the amount of memorization in sociology, so we will help them out. In addition, as with science, we will prepare students to do well in projects such as individual research.

Middle School Support Course

Grade 6 – Grade 8

Students want to deepen their understanding of classes, perform well on quizzes and tests, and max out their GPA.
Our teachers, who graduated from international colleges, will carefully guide middle school students from the basics to more advanced topics. EGCIS also teaches students how to study independently.

01

ENGLISH

As you progress through the grades and write essays more often, a thorough understanding of English grammar and sentence structure becomes very important. We will guide you to write solid pieces with no grammatical mistakes, and teach you how to use such language structures as independent clauses, dependent clauses, subjects, objects, and prepositional phrases, which are important when writing English sentences. Ultimately, we will do our best to support you so that you can write high school-level essays.

02

VOCABULARY

Expanding your English vocabulary is crucial in your middle school years. This will surely lead to improvement in speaking, writing, reading, etc. To deepen your English vocabulary EGCIS offers lessons using flashcards, Quizlet, and regular vocabulary tests.
By improving your English vocabulary at an early stage, you will be prepared for the SAT, AP Literature, and IB English that you will receive in high school.

03

READING  COMPREHENSION

Many international school students tend to struggle with reading comprehension in English. As the grade level goes up, the difficulty of literature increases. We will help students develop reading comprehension by teaching them study methods for reading texts. In addition, regular discussions of the book's content will be held, so you can improve your reading comprehension even more deeply.

04

MATH

PRE ALGEBRA
Math at the International School is a basic course that prepares students for high school, focusing on factors and multiples, exponents, variables, inequalities, and linear functions. Pre-Algebra is a topic that students will study in secondary school, and it is important to have a solid understanding of its content. At Exis, our teachers will help students prepare for the IB and AP advanced math courses they will take in high school.

05

WORD PROBLEMS AND
REAL WORLD APPLICATIONS

Students tend to struggle with written math problems. In order to prepare for this, it is important to solve problems repeatedly.
We will thoroughly instruct students on calculations related to everyday matters (such as calculating interest rates (simple interest) and physical distances traveled using systems of equations, fractions, functions, etc.), with a focus on Pre Algebra. In addition, it is very important to become familiar with mathematical writing problems at an early stage, as they are not only an opportunity to learn mathematics, but also to improve your English skills.

SCIENCE

The science courses from G6 to G8 will prepare students for the three advanced courses they will take in high school: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, including Atomic structure, the periodic table of elements, basic physics, and Cell Biology. We will teach students to analyze experimental results and write lab reports. The level of difficulty of science in secondary education will be higher than it was in elementary school, so it is very important to make sure that it does not become a subject that you are not good at. Our goal is to make science fun and interesting for our students.

07

SOCIAL STUDIES

Beginning with geography and world history, sociology is an essential subject for secondary school students to expand their knowledge. Students will study geography, history, and analyze maps. In addition, by studying issues and political situations in contemporary society, this course will deepen the students' understanding of the world around them. We will support students in finding subjects they would want to study in high school and college.
